The RMR-C475 gives you 360-degree detection of all Radar bands (X, K, Ka, SuperWide, Pulse, Instant-On) and all Laser Speed Devices (Pro-Laser, LTI, Laser-Lite, and Stalker). Adaptive laser tracking (ALT) ensures better laser performance. Integrated Radar/Laser Scrambler
In addition to detection, The RMR-C475 will scramble all radar and Lidar guns. - Laser Scrambler
Lidar sends out laser pulses and measures how long it takes to hit your car and come back. From the speed of light it can determine your range. It sends out several more pulses and calculates your speed from the change in distance over time. The RMR-C475 transmits pulses electronically timed at 100 feet apart. This only allows the Lidar to see up to 100 feet so it is unable to calculate your speed.
- Radar Scrambler
It works on all police radar bands (X, K, Ka, super wide). Inside the scrambler are 3 elements: an FM chirp generator, a mixer diode and a dual ridge wave-guide antenna. When the scrambler is hit by a signal it runs it through the mixer, adding the FM chirp to mix up the signal and using the antenna, reflect back this new signal to the radar gun. The radar gun's computer can't recognize the new signal; it gets confused and won't display a reading on the gun, leaving a blank screen. Works great. Upgraded from a RMR-C450 and couldn't be happier. Has saved me enough times to more than pay for itself. Picks up radar signal from as far as a mile and a half to two miles away. Screen is hard to read at certain times of the day, but with the voice alert not being able to see the screen isn't a big deal. Would highly recommend this.

First of all, if you thoroughly read the instruction manual as soon as you receive this product, it clearly states that the product comes with the scrambler function turned OFF. So, anyone complaining that that they were not told that the scrambler function is disabled initially, simply did not read the instruction manual. Setup is very easy with the visible menu options displayed as you step through the setup. The new 3 suction cup mount is far superior to the 2 suction cup mount on the RMR-c450 model. Also, for optimum performance, read the FAQ section on the Rocky Mountain Radar website for tips on getting the most out of this product's performance. It works as advertised and does a great job on all radar and laser signals. At it's price, it's a no-brainer of a bargain.

This is my third RMR and I have been pleased with every one. Sure the scrambler comes deactivated but luckily they give you directions on how to activate it.... And its true you cant go by a speed gun without your speed being read but look in the manual you will find out about the punch through zone, you cant scramble radar within 200ft but you can at longer distances. We dont read enough any more. This detector/scrambler is great for highway driving and works perfectly if you know how to use it. Heck Im gonna go buy another one, see ya.

Rocky Mountain Radar RMR-C475 Radar and Laser Detector and Scrambler= THE SCTAMBLER FUNCTION HAS BEEN TURNED OFF.THERE WAS NOTHING SAID THAT IT WOULD COME THIS WAY. BUYER BEWARE.

Arrived quickly, packaged well, as described.
There was a problem with this device the 2nd day I used it.
Amazon was the seller and I went into the screen to have a replacement sent.
The new dectector was here overnight and has not had a problem at all.
I have gone past many stationary radar machines and yes the scrambler does work and work well. They always display 0 when I go by.
Not sure why the negitive reviews unless they are disgruntled employees or more likely the ones NOT FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS. If you go 15mph over the thing won't work. Also for the first year Rocky Mountain pays your tickets. Yea ok they can't get rid of the points but paying the ticket pretty much says they will stand behind their products.
I work for a British Company that has no ties to radar detectors or scrambler devices what-so-ever so this is not a bias'd review.
This is a great device and works very well. Rocky Mountain Radar makes a very good product.
